Position Summary
Deliver oncology and hospice nursing care on inpatient unit 3SEN at the NIH Clinical Center, supporting patients enrolled in oncology and palliative protocols. Responsibilities include symptom and pain management, administration of chemotherapy and supportive therapies per protocol, and compassionate end-of-life care coordinated with the interdisciplinary team.
13 Weeks with possible extension.
Day shift or Day/Night Rotation. 36 hours per week. 3-12 hour shifts per week. Weekends and Holidays as needed.
W-2 Position.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or associate degree in Nursing from an accredited university; successful passage of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
Licensure: Valid, active RN license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States.
Certification: Current BLS; additional certifications if required by the client.
Experience: Two to three (2–3) years of medical/surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting. (Exceeds the PWS baseline of one year within the preceding three years in the designated specialty.)
Role-Specific Requirements
Acute care med/surg background applied to an oncology and hospice population.
Willingness to work a day shift or day/night rotation, with weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
This position is contingent upon successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings, which may include a background check, drug test, physical examination, and respirator fit testing in accordance with contract and facility requirements.
