    Position Summary:

    As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will be a vital part of our surgical team. Your expertise and dedication will ensure the highest quality care for our patients. You will utilize your clinical competence and nursing skills throughout the perioperative process, from assessment to evaluation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate competency in performing scrub/surgical routines and aseptic technique.

    • Understand and utilize guidelines for operation of autoclaves and steris units.

    • Take personal accountability for the proper handling, use, and care of department supplies, instruments, and equipment inventory.

    • Utilize the nursing process, including patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation.

    • Convey theoretical knowledge and skills related to perioperative nursing care.

    • Ensure thorough, accurate, and complete documentation of intraoperative patient care.

    • Assist with patient positioning, skin care precautions, and prevention of pressure-related skin breakdown.

    • Assist with surgical sponge, sharps/miscellaneous items, and instrument counts.

    • Effectively demonstrate critical thinking, prioritization of duties, and time management skills.

    • Maintain accuracy with patient charge process and cost-efficient usage of case supplies.

    • Strive to ensure efficiency in turn around time between procedures.

    Additional Information:

    • Health Insurance available on the 1st of the month after starting (no waiting period).

    • All other benefits start on the first of the month after completing 90 days of employment.

    Education:

    • RN Diploma or RN Graduate Program

    Credentials:

    • RN - Registered Nurse

    • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

    Competencies and Skills:

    • Experience in Hospital or Acute Care Setting

    • Clear Communication Skills, Both Written and Verbal

    • Ability to Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients and Team Members

    • Ability to Withstand Crisis Situations

    • Customer Service Skills for Patients, Team Members, and Visitors

    • Knowledge and Experience with Electronic Health Records

    • Must possess current hospital experience (within the past 5 years).

    • Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).

    • Prefer a minimum of 1 year recent perioperative experience.

    • Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of Department Orientation.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

    Certification Requirements:

    • BLS

    State License Requirements:

    • Delaware

    • Compact Allowed


    Salary: Competitive

    Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 (Payment Terms Apply)

    Relocation Assistance Offered (Excluding New Grads)

    On-Call Pay: $4.50/hour
