We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a close-knit Surgical Services team at a rural, critical access hospital near Port Angeles, Washington. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy a broad scope of practice, hands-on perioperative care, and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a community-focused setting.
Position Overview:
As an OR RN, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient surgical care from preoperative preparation through postoperative handoff. Nurses in this environment work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists, often managing a wide variety of cases and responding to urgent needs common in rural settings.
Schedule:
Full-time, 5 eight-hour shifts per week
Day, evening, and night shifts available
On-call rotation required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide circulating and/or scrub nursing support during surgical procedures
Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and supplies
Perform preoperative assessments and verify surgical consents
Maintain sterile fields and infection prevention standards
Monitor patients intraoperatively and respond to changes in condition
Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams
Ensure accurate documentation and patient handoff
Qualifications:
Active Washington State RN license
BLS required
ACLS preferred
Prior Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience preferred
CNOR certification a plus
