Job Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Location: Hyannis, MA
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 8 or 10-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours/Week | Rotating Weekends | On-Call Required

Pay Rate: $3,100 – $3,150/week

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to provide safe, high-quality patient care and support the efficient operation of the Operating Room.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience.

  • Strong clinical judgment and patient-care skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

  • Ability to participate in rotating weekend coverage and on-call assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses.

  • Direct and guide patient care activities performed by ancillary personnel.

  • Maintain accurate and current patient records and documentation.

  • Complete comprehensive patient assessments and initiate appropriate plans of care.

  • Communicate pertinent patient information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Charge Nurse role.

  • Utilize computerized nursing information systems effectively.

  • Serve as a resource for patient care, staff orientation, and education.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities and evaluate patient-care effectiveness.

  • Follow safety, blood/body fluid, and infection-control policies and procedures.

  • Maintain professional development and current clinical knowledge.

  • Maintain patient and hospital confidentiality.

  • Coordinate daily Operating Room activities in collaboration with nursing and anesthesia leadership.

  • Assist with supervision of personnel and departmental activities.

  • Support staff development, education, and identification of departmental needs.

  • Ensure availability and proper control of Operating Room materials, supplies, and equipment.

  • Support medication and drug inventory control, including Pyxis.

  • Assist in maintaining patient safety and quality-care standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
