We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room (OR) to provide perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and immediate postoperative nursing care
Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies
Maintain a sterile surgical environment and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques
Serve as a circulating nurse and assist with surgical procedures as assigned
Assess patients before surgery and monitor patient status throughout procedures
Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products as prescribed
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and recovery staff
Perform accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure according to safety protocols
Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety guidelines
Participate in emergency procedures, quality improvement initiatives, and on-call coverage as required
Required Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
Current BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred
Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and patient safety practices
Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
