POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) is a competent and compassionate professional whose scope of practice includes care of the patient in an inpatient and outpatient surgical setting.  Perioperative nurses function as patient and patient-family advocates. Care is delivered in pre-operative, intra-operative, endoscopy, post-anesthesia care unit, phase II recovery and discharge phases. The RN performs assessments of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients by utilizing age-specific physical, social, and psychological criteria.  From this assessment a plan of care is developed implemented, evaluated, and documented in EPIC by the perioperative nurse throughout each perioperative phase.  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing (BSN desirable)
• Valid nursing license in the state of  Wisconsin
• Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire
• ACLS certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PALS certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire
• Proficient with basic computer programs and electronic health documentation
• At least one year experience in perioperative nursing or equivalent desirable

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5pm. 

FTE: PRN (as needed)
