Position Overview
An ambulatory surgical center in Santa Rosa, California is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support patients throughout the preoperative, postoperative, and recovery phases of outpatient surgical care.
This part-time opportunity features 8-hour day shifts and is well suited for an RN with recent outpatient surgery and Phase I recovery experience. The nurse will provide safe, patient-centered care while collaborating closely with surgical, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to outpatient surgical patients during preoperative and postoperative phases.
- Monitor and assess patients during recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures, including Phase I recovery.
- Perform ongoing assessments and promptly identify changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to established clinical standards and provider orders.
- Maintain patient safety throughout the perioperative and recovery process.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing colleagues, and other clinical professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow infection prevention, medication safety, and surgical services protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active California Registered Nurse license upon hire.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification upon hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of Outpatient Surgery RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Phase I recovery RN experience.
