RN Outreach Educator

Blank Children's Hospital is seeking a passionate and collaborative RN Outreach Educator to support pediatric, neonatal, and OB education across our referral and networking region. In alignment with the mission, vision, and advocacy and outreach goals of Blank Children's Hospital, this role will partner with multidisciplinary professionals to design and deliver high-quality static and simulation-based education for medical teams caring for children and newborns.
This position plays a key role in strengthening clinical knowledge, supporting referring facilities, and enhancing the quality of care delivered to pediatric and neonatal patients. The RN Outreach Educator will provide monthly educational sessions to partner hospitals and institutions, helping position Blank Children's Hospital as a trusted leader and resource in pediatric, neonatal, and OB education.

Responsibilities
- Develops and delivers educational offerings for referring facilities, regional hospitals, and partner institutions based on identified pediatric, neonatal, and OB learning needs.
- Collaborates with transport services and multidisciplinary partners to provide outreach education, site visits, webinars, simulations, and regional training opportunities.
- Coordinates and supports PALS, PEARS, and HeartCode courses, including classroom instruction, equipment maintenance, and adherence to AAP/AHA guidelines.
- Plans and manages medical education initiatives, including bimonthly learning opportunities, conferences, project coordination, and budget oversight.
- Maintains clinical expertise, awareness of national pediatric care guidelines, and supports clinical areas as needed within scope of practice.
- Manages the Visiting Nurse Experience while delivering exceptional customer education and service.
- Represents Blank Children's Hospital with professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to quality, relationship-building, and UnityPoint Health nursing expectations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience:
- Positive professional image including public speaking experience.
- Ability to work with community and state agencies and groups.
- Prior teaching experience required.
- Prior work with high fidelity mannequins preferred.
- Must have prior experience in program development, implementation, evaluation and coordination.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Current nursing license in state of Iowa.
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
