Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 3 Days per Week | 34.5–37.5 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate:
Local: $60 - $70/hr
Travel: $75 - $80/hr (Based on Experience)
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for an exciting Contract opportunity in Bronx, NY.
Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document clinical findings.
Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and neurological status throughout the recovery process.
Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
Initiate and maintain IV access and perform phlebotomy procedures as needed.
Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation and respond promptly to changes in condition.
Recognize and manage post-anesthesia complications and emergency situations.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure care and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
Primary Source Verification of License and Registration from the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience required.
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience required.
Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
