Job Title: Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Location: Bronx, NY
Type: Contract
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 3 Days per Week | 34.5–37.5 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate:
Local: $60 - $70/hr
Travel: $75 - $80/hr (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for an exciting Contract opportunity in Bronx, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and provide nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document clinical findings.

  • Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and neurological status throughout the recovery process.

  • Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and treatments in accordance with physician orders.

  • Initiate and maintain IV access and perform phlebotomy procedures as needed.

  • Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation and respond promptly to changes in condition.

  • Recognize and manage post-anesthesia complications and emergency situations.

  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure care and discharge instructions.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.

  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.

  • Primary Source Verification of License and Registration from the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) required.

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.

  • Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience required.

  • Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience required.

  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
