Under the direction of the Nursing Director or Supervisor, the Pediatric/PICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The RN is responsible for directing all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations and incorporating knowledge of patient’s age specific development and cultural values into the plan of care. The RN contributes to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration that demonstrates positive outcomes in the delivery of patient care.
This is a full-time, night shift (7p-7a) position on our state-of-the-art 6-bed Pediatric/PICU unit. We are a swing bed unit and take care of general pediatric patients as well as PICU level of care patients. Our most common PICU patients are usually respiratory driven (asthma exacerbation, pneumonia) and volume comes largely from the Pediatric ER as well as our general pediatric surgeon and pediatric GI.
