The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates newborn care while promoting infant safety, parent education, breastfeeding support, and successful transition to home. This position is cross-trained to Labor Delivery and is expected to maintain competency in designated Labor Delivery skills, assist with laboring patients and deliveries as needed, attend high-risk deliveries, and support staffing needs within the Womens Services department. The Newborn Nursery RN collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, lactation consultants, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes for mothers and newborns.
