This is a Full Time position working 10 hour shifts at Northwest Medical Center.
The Vascular Access (PICC) RN participates in increased levels of care in a dynamic setting that provides quality care to higher acuity patients that require a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter.
The PICC RN determines best vascular access for patients based on medications, diagnosis, and length of hospital stay and/or home IV therapy. Reports directly to the patient's primary nurse and/or physician as needed. Troubleshoots and Declot VAD's or assists staff as a resource to unclot the line. Provides education regarding Vascular Access with patients, family and staff. Obtain consent and Cerner documentation. Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes, while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
