Job Summary: The Infusion RN in the Merle M. Mahr Cancer Center provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and other infusion therapies in an outpatient setting. This role involves patient assessment, education, administration of chemotherapy, monitoring for adverse reactions, and coordination of care with the oncology team.

Work is performed in accordance with Kentucky regulations for Registered Nurses, established hospital standards, patient care services department/unit structure, process and outcome standards, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the philosophy, goals and objectives of the hospital, nursing and education services.

Education, Licensure, Experience, and Training:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Kentucky State Board of Nursing or compact license as Registered Nurse required.
  • BLS required.
  • Oncology Certification (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Society preferred. In lieu of OCN, 12 oncology specific CNE’s are required annually.
  • Palliative Care education required annually as assigned
