Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care. The RN will utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to manage and coordinate patient care effectively. This role includes supervising delegated care, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process
• Monitor and manage patients requiring step-down/telemetry care
• Administer and titrate medication drips as required
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Delegate and supervise nursing care activities appropriately
• Document patient care accurately and timely
• Identify variances in patient goals and implement corrective actions
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and patient safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or Compact)
• Minimum 2+ years recent experience in PCU / Stepdown / Telemetry
• Strong experience with cardiac monitoring and medication drips
• Current BLS & ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Excellent clinical, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience in high-acuity PCU settings
