RN Quality & Outcomes Coordinator - Full-Time

Job Summary
Responsible for collecting, aggregating, analyzing, and summarizing quality, clinical, and physician performance data to support organizational performance improvement initiatives. This position collaborates with hospital leadership, medical staff, and clinical departments to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards. Coordinates Medical Staff quality improvement, peer review, and data management activities while supporting physician leaders in the consistent application of Medical Staff Peer Review policies. Contributes to organizational excellence by facilitating quality initiatives, supporting regulatory readiness, and driving performance improvement efforts.
Essential Functions
Collects, abstracts, analyzes, and summarizes quality, clinical, and physician performance data for organizational and Medical Staff committees.
Develops, maintains, and utilizes databases to support quality management, performance improvement, peer review, and regulatory reporting processes.
Coordinates Medical Staff quality improvement and peer review activities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Facilitates and coordinates quality improvement, peer review, and Medical Staff committee meetings.
Prepares meeting agendas, reports, presentations, minutes, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
Completes event report reviews and assists with investigations to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
Monitors organizational quality metrics and performance indicators to support strategic and operational goals.
Provides data analysis and reporting support to service lines, departments, physicians, and leadership teams.
Collaborates with leaders to ensure compliance with accreditation, certification, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Supports readiness activities for regulatory and accreditation surveys, including The Joint Commission, CMS, state departments of health, and other applicable agencies.
Assists with regulatory certifications, quality reporting initiatives, and performance improvement projects.
Prioritizes and manages multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities effectively.
Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive quality, peer review, practitioner, and organizational information.
Supports Medical Staff leadership in fulfilling responsibilities related to quality improvement, physician performance monitoring, and peer review.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement principles, performance improvement methodologies, and regulatory standards.
Knowledge of healthcare data collection, abstraction, analysis, reporting, and interpretation.
Knowledge of Medical Staff quality programs, peer review processes, and physician performance improvement activities.
Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and summarize data from multiple sources.
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop and maintain databases, reports, spreadsheets, and tracking systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, correspondence, and meeting materials.
Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and certification requirements within healthcare organizations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, operational leaders, and regulatory agencies.
Experience with quality improvement, data collection, and healthcare performance measurement preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
Education
Field of Study
Work Experience
One year of nursing experience required.
Registered Nurse clinical experience required.
Two years of healthcare quality, performance improvement, peer review, regulatory compliance, data analysis, or related experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN required.
Basic Life Support (BLS certification required.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ preferred.
