A day in the life…
Wondering what a day in the life of a Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
Arrive at work in the morning- no night shifts here!
Provide patient assessments, vital signs, and symptom evaluation for radiation oncology patients.
Educate patients and their families on radiation therapy and side effects.
Perform and support on-treatment visits.
Assist with monitoring and managing treatment-related side effects with Radiation Oncologist support.
Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams.
Triage patient calls and EMR messages.
Assist with procedures and medication administration.
Coordinate imaging and lab testing.
Document accurately in the EMR.
Maintain a safe and organized environment.
This job might be for you if…
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Required Licenses
Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certification is required (must be able to obtain within 60 days of hire).
