Job Summary and Qualifications

Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department. Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and personnel capabilities and qualifications, and assigns other duties as needed. Directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care provided to patients. Assists team members in giving care to patients, or administers direct care when professional nursing skills and judgement are needed. Accepts responsibility for attitude, performance, behavior and interpersonal relationships. Promotes a cohesive team environment by rerating all patients, families, physicians, and co-workers courteously. Manages conflict/problems in a creative, constructive manner. Accepts responsibility for professional growth. Participates in orientation of new personnel. Participates in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.

  • Utilizes assessment skills to identify patient problems and determine nursing interventions. To include biopsychosocial and educational needs. 
  • Utilizes assessment skills to recognize changes in patients’ conditions and initiates appropriate action. Assesses patient during and upon return from diagnostic procedures and documents findings. 
  • Providing safe nursing care and a safe environment for patients/families. 
  • Making patient rounds during shift schedule ensuring appropriate safe care. • Establishing patients’ plan of care based on medical/nursing diagnosis and admission profile. 
  • Initiate nursing orders for the comfort and well-being of the patient. (Ex: oral care, turning, positioning, etc.) Transcribes and implements physician orders and documents all patient-related information. 
  • Administers all medication accurately and safely within established guidelines. • Administers IV fluids accurately and safely within nursing guidelines. 
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.” 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree
