We are implementing a dyad model. This means the nurse will have their own CNA and the support of a virtual nurse. The nursing ratio for Med/Surg will now be 1:6 7, and the CNA ratio will also be 1:6 7. The virtual nurse will have a ratio of 1:30.
- Beds: 42 - Ratios: 1:6/7 - How often are staff taking a 1:6 ratio?: At least once a week - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical, surgical, and orthopedics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Any titratable drips?: NO, except Heparin - RT available and what equipment? (has only worked with RT doing all setup): RT is 24 hours on the floor - Tele on the floor at all, central tele (any monitor techs)?: Yes Tele's on the floor, but we have a centralized Tele station. - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:6/7 -Virtual nurse 1:30 ratio - Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 - Weekend Requirement: As needed - Holiday Requirement: As needed - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No - Floating Requirements: PCU or Burn - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Navy blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week is classroom and then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor
