Position Summary:

Baptist Health Walker Hospital

Progressive Care Unit

Nurse to patient ratio: 4:1

Full Time - Three 12 hour shifts

7p-7a 

Responsibilities:
  • Provides advanced nursing care for patients requiring complex assessments, therapies, and high-intensity interventions.

  • Analyzes assessment data to anticipate changes and respond quickly to evolving patient conditions.

  • Prioritizes critical information to take immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused action.

  • Monitors and manages specialized equipment and interprets data such as cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic pressures.

  • Responds to emergencies and life-threatening situations according to established protocols and standards of care.

  • Assesses patient needs, develops and evaluates individualized care plans, and advocates for patients and families.

  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams while coordinating and delegating patient care activities.

  • Documents care accurately and maintains clinical competency while modeling professionalism and supporting departmental goals.

Qualifications:

Education/Training  

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department. 

 

Licensure/Certification  

  • Maintains current State of Alabama RN license.  
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.  

 

Experience  

  • 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
