Position Summary
The Rrsearch Nurse Coordinator II is a dual-role position designed to enhance the care of patients undergoing surgical treatment for atrial fibrillation while advancing the division''s clinical research mission. This position combines direct patient care and education with clinical research coordination to ensure patients receive comprehensive, evidence-based care throughout their surgical journey.
Approximately 50% of the role is dedicated to clinical responsibilities, serving as a key liaison between patients, cardiac surgeons, and the multidisciplinary care team. The incumbent provides education and support from the initial surgical evaluation through postoperative recovery, assists with pre- and post-operative patient management in the outpatient clinic, facilitates care coordination, and serves as a clinical resource for patients and families navigating atrial fibrillation surgery.
The remaining 50% of the position focuses on clinical research, supporting investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies related to atrial fibrillation and cardiac surgery. Responsibilities include identifying and screening eligible patients, coordinating study enrollment and follow-up, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining research documentation and databases, collaborating with investigators and research staff, and contributing to the successful execution of research protocols aimed at improving outcomes for patients with atrial fibrillation.
This position requires a collaborative, patient-centered professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care while advancing innovation through clinical research. The successful candidate will work closely with cardiac surgeons, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, research personnel, and other multidisciplinary team members to improve patient outcomes and support the division''s mission of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Salary Range
$64,500.00 - $109,900.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
