Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed new graduate nurse who has completed an accredited nursing program and is eager to engage in our New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. This role involves delivering professional nursing care to patients, which encompasses assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and supervising tasks assigned to other care team members, all in line with established nursing standards. The nurse will be responsible for providing age-appropriate care to patients with diverse medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct specialized tasks based on demonstrated skills to deliver nursing care to the designated patient population.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age-specific needs, including nutrition, pain management, and identifying signs of abuse or neglect to formulate, evaluate, and adjust patient care plans.
- Create a realistic and thorough educational plan for patients and their families, utilizing suitable resources and teaching methods, while also providing health education and coaching.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including processing physician orders, in accordance with organizational policies. Monitor and assess the nursing care provided by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on all aspects of patient care.
- Complete required competencies and maintain necessary qualifications.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in nursing to ensure care is tailored to the patient's age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's scope of service.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and adhere to safety protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Education:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school or possess equivalent educational qualifications for licensing.
Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
- Consistently stand and walk.
- Frequently lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
- Engage in frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry using a keyboard.
- Utilize vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as to identify and differentiate colors.
- Regularly use smell to detect and recognize odors.
- Frequently use hearing to receive oral communication and identify body sounds or alarms.
- Occasionally lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally assist in lifting/moving patients.
- Occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and perform repetitive movements with feet/legs and hands/arms.
- Occasionally drive.
- Rarely crawl or run.
