GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonusThe Wyoming State Hospital is seeking a leadership-driven Registered Nurse to join our team as a Shift Supervisor. This pivotal role provides clinical oversight, administrative guidance, and mentorship to nursing staff during assigned shifts. As the Shift Supervisor, you will serve as a primary resource for clinical decision-making, ensuring patients receive high-quality, compassionate care while fostering a collaborative environment for nursing professionals.This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Assists with the development of policy and procedures for implementing specific programs; orients new staff to the programs, policies, and procedures.
- Contributes to the development of relevant nursing protocols to provide clinical care and teaching materials for groups and individuals.
- Provides guidance and oversight regarding nursing functions as programs are developed and implemented.
- Mentors advise and guide staff nurses toward program outcomes.
- Serves as a resource for personnel in developing and delivering programs/services including clinical nursing care, contact investigation, community outreach initiatives, and health education/health promotion messages.
- Oversight of nursing staff and nursing schedules after hours (1900-0730).
- Contributes to Quality Assurance by collecting and compiling department CQI data.
- Performs nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of ill and disabled persons.
- Arranges for and conduct nursing clinics and classes.
Qualifications
------------
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of principles of nursing and management processes.
- Knowledge of the medical diagnosis and treatment of patient care using nursing diagnosis.
- Knowledge of organization, planning, and team building.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of public health nursing.
- Knowledge of human service management to include supervisory techniques, methods, and standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates Degree (typically in Nursing)
- Experience: 1 - 2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming OR Education & Experience Substitution: 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
Necessary Special Requirements

- PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
- Restrain clients for treatments.
- Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation requires it.
NOTES:
