07/20 start date, 13 wks, 40 hrs, Variable Shift - M-F start 7 am, 8 am, or 9 am (Staggered shifts). Call Schedule - anything after hours, days of the week depend on the week, 1 or 2 days a week, 1 or 2 weekends a month (every other weekend).

Nurses float to the CV holding (Pre opp/post opp).

Scrub Color - they provide onsite.

Manager will call and interview.

Impella experience is a must.

This department performs before-, during- and after-care of invasive, interventional, and therapeutic procedures/studies to treat cardiac and vascular arterial venous and structure heart disorders, cardiac rhythm abnormalities, to implant and remove devices and leads, and conduct therapeutic cathartic ablations. If you use this department, do not use 759008 (Electrophysiology).

Job Summary:

Observes, evaluates, and coordinates the care given to patients in the Special Procedures department.

Participates in direct and indirect care of all related activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and mission of the organization.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred

Registered Nurse experience with critical care experience or medical-surgical or experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab/Special Procedure department: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification: Required

Advanced Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required

Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required

Essential Functions:

Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.

Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues.

Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.

Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.

Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation.

Connect electrocardiogram (EKG) leads and alerts doctor of any changes in patient condition.

Records analyzes hemodynamic parameters and calculates shunt and valves and other data.

Monitors patient, analyzes electrocardiogram (EKG) and hemodynamic parameter and reports to physician any changes in patient's condition.

Operates computerized MIDAS system with accuracy and evaluates and reports significant data and findings throughout all procedures for all patients of various age groups.

Operates other specialized equipment: Datascope Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Baxter Cardiac Output, Automated Coagulation Timer (ACT) machine, American Optical Unistat Oximeter, Medrad injector, Life Pak, Defibrillator, Sony digital systems, GE Advantx X-ray system.

Collaborates with the team of patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.

Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.

Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
