This exciting expansion positions PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital as a regional center of excellence, delivering specialized, life-changing care to patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and a broad range of orthopedic and cardiac conditions. What You'll Bring

We're looking for a compassionate, patient-focused RN who is passionate about helping individuals achieve their highest level of recovery and independence.

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Experience

  • Minimum one year RN experience in an acute care facility

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs (Required)

  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
  • Basic computer skills (Required)

Department / Location Specific Notes

Critical Care - ICU, ICU Medical, ICU Surgical, Neuro ICU, CVICU & Patient Care Support (Rapid Response Team):

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within 6 months.

Emergency Services - Emergency Departments:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) required within 12 months.
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within 6 months.

Endoscopy - Gastro Endo Lab & Endoscopy OP Lab:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.

Infusion Services Oncology - Infusion, SJMC Infusion Center, OP Infusion, OP Oncology, Infusion Center & Oncology:

  • Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider (CBP) through ONS required within 6 months.

Intermediate Care - Cardiac Surgery Unit, ICU Stepdown & Intermediate Care Unit:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within 6 months.

Interventional Radiology / Cath Lab - Electrophysiology, Cath Lab, Cath Prep & Recovery & Imaging Nursing:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.

Labor & Delivery - Labor & Delivery:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring AWHONN (EFM) required within 6 months.

Labor & Delivery - Critical Access Hospitals: Certification required in addition to above

  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (STABLE) required within 6 months.

Medical/Surgical- Observation Unit & Neurology:

  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within 6 months.

Neonatal ICU - Neonatal ICU & Special Care Nursery:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (STABLE) required within 6 months. Required for all except Level 3 NICU (Riverbend & Southwest preferred).

Pediatrics - Pediatric, Pediatric Float Pool, PHMC ICU & OP Women and Children Svcs:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months.

Perioperative Services - Recovery/PACU Room:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months.

Perioperative Services - Critical Access Hospitals: Operating Room & Short Stay:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
  • Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
  • Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
  • Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
  • Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
