Job Title: RN Surgery Center
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Duration: 13 weeks 
Shift/Schedule: Days, 40 hours/week

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to patients in the surgery center.
  • Assess, monitor, and care for assigned patients throughout the perioperative process.
  • Document patient responses, treatments, and changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products.
  • Perform patient interviews and nursing assessments.
  • Recover Phase I PACU patients.
  • Manage patient airways and treat postoperative pain and nausea.
  • Administer prescribed pupil-dilating eye drops.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge instructions.
  • Coordinate care with the healthcare team and delegate tasks as appropriate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active Oklahoma RN License or Compact (eNLC) RN License.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • PALS certification.
  • Excellent IV skills.
  • Experience with patient interviews and nursing assessments.
  • Experience recovering Phase I PACU patients.
  • Ability to manage airways and postoperative pain/nausea for patients ranging from 6 months to 95 years of age.
  • Knowledge of professional nursing practices and procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology surgical cases, including cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, and oculoplastic procedures.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
