RN (Telemetry)

Pay Rate: $55 - $60 per hour

Summary:

• Shift hours: NIGHTS, 7PM-7:30AM, EOW IS REQUIRED

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.
• Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care.
• Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning “after hospital care.”
• Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
• Role model Relationship Centered Care through various patient care actions and initiatives.
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family.
• Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement quality improvement projects and nursing research studies.
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and coordinate with nursing management to ensure supplies and staffing are sufficient for patient care.

Requirements:

• NYS RN License
• BLS, ACLS, Tele, Ventilator certifications
• Minimum 2 years of tele and critical care experience
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• 1 year travel experience for travel positions, not required for Per Diem positions

Preferred Skills:

• EPIC experience highly preferred
• Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred
• Associate degree in nursing is considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program
