    As our Trauma Performance Improvement RN, you will contribute significantly to our mission by leading proactive efforts to minimize traumatic injuries and support vulnerable patients. Your role elevates community safety and integrates with our overall trauma care strategy. Every day you will oversee the comprehensive planning, development, and oversight of the Injury Prevention Program. You will act as the primary liaison to community groups, schools, government agencies, and regional coalitions, ensuring program alignment with ACS requirements. You will also develop and deliver targeted educational content, conduct community outreach, and analyze injury data to inform prevention strategies. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership, program management, and communication skills, vital for coordinating across diverse community and healthcare stakeholders. A deep commitment to public health, injury prevention, and patient safety is essential, along with the ability to meet ACS verification standards and manage complex community-based programs.

    • Plans, analyzes, coordinates and facilitates trauma performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) plan, team projects and initiatives (in collaboration with VMFH leadership/management and medical staff) to assure that standards, objectives, timelines and deliverables are met.
    • Promotes and operationalizes the goals and objectives of VMFH Trauma PIPS to achieve its strategic vision for an integrated system; plans, designs and executes targeted clinical performance improvement initiatives/projects; implements and evaluates related standards, policies, procedures, training materials and/or general communications in support of project objectives; makes formal presentations to stakeholders; follows up to ensure that recommended changes have been implemented.
    • Serves as point-person for internal and external project communications; ensures that project milestones, completion dates, costs, risks, contingencies and other significant matters are communicated on a regular basis to team members and stakeholders; updates committees, groups on project status; develops written reports and newsletters, including data on outcomes, for management and staff.
    • Identifies problematic issues relating to performance improvement projects, determines reasons and actions taken to resolve, and advises higher level authority; conveys corrective plan of action to interested parties and follows up periodically to determine current status/disposition.
    • Ensures that all clinical and related support activities are fully documented in accordance with VMFH standards and practices.
    • Identifies VMFH Trauma Service performance improvement opportunities as they relate to Washington State DOH/EMS Trauma Standards, TQIP, NTDS and VMFH outcomes, values and/or business objectives; analyzes and assesses clinical practices for opportunities to improve healthcare delivery.

    Required

    • Bachelors Other Nursing or healthcare related discipline and five years of related work experience that demonstrates the attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills and abilities, including experience in outcomes measurement, risk assessment, data analysis/reporting and management of acute care clinical work teams., upon hire
