Shift: FT - Days
Unit Description:
The Sentara Princess Anne Hospital provides exceptional emergency care to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week with expert staff, cutting-edge technology and specialty services, including:
Board-certified emergency physicians
Emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support, trauma and pediatric certifications
Pediatric-trained team to treat children of all ages
Overnight observation rooms for children and a separate family-friendly waiting area
Seamless connection to easily accessible radiology department
Landing pad for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance to ensure quicker treatment in emergency situations
Overview
Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing leadership support to the day shift
Engaging in active, real-time peer coaching
Managing conflict resolution and customer service interventions
Overseeing and optimizing patient flow
Conducting various audits to ensure quality and compliance
We’re looking for someone with a strong leadership presence—someone who is motivated to guide the weekend team with positivity, support, and vision. The ideal candidate will be proactive in managing patient flow and committed to fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Education
BSN required, MSN preferred.
Certification/Licensure
RN VA or Compact License in good standing.
Experience
18 months nursing experience in the ED required.
