RN Wound Ostomy

Willis Knighton Pierremont is seeking an experienced RN for the position of Wound/Ostomy Nurse (WOCN). The WOCN provides high-level, evidence-based care in the areas of wound and ostomy care. The typical duties of the WOCN include serving as a care consultant and provider for patients with wounds and ostomies; providing assessments of patients and collaborating with the medical team to develop plans of care; providing wound and ostomy education to patients, their families, and staff; developing plans and protocols to reduce the incidence of hospital acquired pressure injuries; working with staff and quality officers to keep policies and procedures current; staying abreast of supplies and treatment trends regarding wound and ostomy care. Requirements: Two years wound care experience preferred Graduate of Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing (WOCN) Educational Program with current WOCN specialty board certification OR pursuit of certification in WOCN, CWS, or WCC within the first year. Current Louisiana Nursing License BLS Provider Certification ACLS Provider Certification
