Reports To: Field Service Manager / Commissioning Manager

Salary Range (Entry Level)

$65,000 - $85,000 annually

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) Field Service & Commissioning Technician based in Salt Lake City, UT to support the startup, commissioning, and service of RNG facilities across the United States and Canada. Familiarity with odor control and desulfurization systems would also be beneficial. This role provides hands-on exposure to commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and long-term system support of renewable energy infrastructure in a variety of operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning & Startup

  • \tSupport field commissioning and startup of RNG, odor control, and desulfurization systems across U.S. and Canadian project sites.
  • \tAssist with loop checks, I/O verification, and functional testing.
  • \tVerify installations against P&IDs and electrical drawings.
  • \tParticipate in site acceptance testing, system turnover, and early-operations support.
  • \tProvide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of the RNG, odor control and desulfurization systems.

Field Service & Maintenance

  • \tPerform on-site troubleshooting and corrective maintenance under senior technician guidance.
  • \tAssist with preventative maintenance activities on compressors, dryers, valves, and analyzers.
  • \tSupport planned outages and commissioning schedules.
  • \tComply with safety protocols and industry regulations when working with biogas technologies.
  • \tMaintain accurate documentation of service activities, repairs, and system performance metrics.
  • \tMonitor biogas and odor control system performance through data collection and analysis, ensuring adherence to environmental and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • \tHigh school diploma or GED; technical or trade education preferred
  • \t1-3 years of experience in field service, maintenance, commissioning support, or industrial operations
  • \tExcellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • \tRelevant certifications in safety, environmental regulations, or specific biogas technologies are a plus.
  • \tMechanical aptitude with basic electrical troubleshooting skills
  • \tAbility to read P&IDs and basic electrical schematics
  • \tWillingness and ability to travel extensively across the U.S. and Canada (50-75%+)
  • \tValid driver's license and ability to obtain required site access and safety credentials
