ROADs Certified Peer Support Specialist CPRS

RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center, is seeking a Tennessee Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) at our Oak Ridge, TN, location.

This peer support position will be part of the startup team for the ROADs (Road to Recovery) program which will create partnerships and significantly expand Ridgeviews work in opioid abatement. The CPRS schedule will be Saturday-Wednesday, 9am-5pm. The ROADs program will begin January 1, 2026.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a current or former mental health consumer with a minimum of two years of experience working in the mental health field or a Certified Peer Specialist (CPRS).
• A High School Diploma or GED at minimum.
• If not a CPRS, must be qualified and willing to obtain Peer Specialist Certification within one year of hire.
• Requires TN drivers license and F endorsement (may be obtained within 90 days of hire).

JOB DUTIES The ROADs CPRS position is an integral part of Ridgeviews recovery program and is a member of the clients support team. This position will be aligned with Ridgeviews Inpatient Unit and will assist and support consumer self-help, advocacy, and education about substance use and co-occurring disorders. Through Peer Recovery Support, consumers develop their own program to supplement existing mental health services or provide an alternative to those services.

Duties will include:

• Providing peer support.
• Assistance in meeting program objectives.
• Co-facilitating recovery groups (as needed).
• Providing supports for program participants while on the inpatient unit.
• Assisting with transitions onto and from the Inpatient Unit.
