Description Weyerhaeuser's Vail Timberlands operation, based out of Rainier, WA has an opening for a Roads Maintenance Operator. We are seeking an individual who desires to work in a market-focused logging environment. This is a full-time, dayshift hourly position. Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM). Benefits (in accordance with the Labor Agreement) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Vacation and Holidays. Rate of pay starts at $33.76, with the ability to move up to $34.76 after proven competencies in required areas according to the contract. Key Functions: Safely and competently operate equipment in various settings, while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards (grader, construction cat, excavator, front end loader, backhoe, and dump truck). Participate in road maintenance activities: culvert installation, ditching, patching, grading and minor road abandonment work, other ancillary functions as assigned. Ability to perform basic operation to independently load, haul, and spread rock, and ability to load associated equipment on to trailer or low bed for mobilization. Understand environmental impacts associated with road maintenance, with an awareness and ability of how to manage them. Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop. Maintain close working relationships and clear communication with other personnel.
