Hanson ValuesIntegrity | Commitment | Quality | Relationships | InnovationA Day in the Life of a Roadway Engineer at HansonHere's a snapshot of what you would do in this role:Design and execute transportation projects for local governments and state DOTs (MoDOT, IDOT)Prepare engineering designs, construction plans, contract documents, and technical reportsLead roadway design efforts and provide direction and mentorship to junior staffCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects such as highways, streets, bridges, culverts, sidewalks, intersections, and moreSupport projects from initial planning through design and constructionPerform site visits to assess conditions and develop solutionsAssist with public involvement activities, board meetings, and grant applicationsParticipate in construction observation and resident engineering dutiesDevelop and maintain client relationships, including effective communication with internal and external stakeholdersAssist with project proposals, scope/fee development, and presentationsContribute to project pursuits and participate in professional/technical organizationsOther duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Technical SkillsExperience with roadway designProficiency in MicroStation and roadway design software (Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, or Civil 3D)Familiarity with MoDOT, IDOT, and other agency requirementsUnderstanding of MFT funding types and utility coordinationExperience with Corridor Modeling, Autoturn, and Guidesign (preferred)Strong oral communication and technical writing skillsEducation / ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)Minimum of 5 years of total experience, with at least 3 years in roadway designMissouri PE license or ability to obtain within 6 monthsSalary Range$100,000 - $150,000 , based on experience.BenefitsOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsCultureWe understand that selecting a job is about more than the day-to-day tasks.
