Roadway Engineer Project Manager (Gulf Region – Birmingham, Huntsville or Tuscaloosa, AL) Are we the road to your future?We are currently searching for an experienced Roadway Engineer Project Manager to support our Gulf Region located in Birmingham, Huntsville or Tuscaloosa, AL.To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, Alabama PE license.What you'll be doing: Provide plan review and project management for Volkert clients in AlabamaOrganizing activities, schedules and reports in support of design projectsLead or assist in the development of project designs and directing designers to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategiesProviding technical design and guidance on projects including preparing engineering studies, documents and reportsAssisting the team in development of Engineering InternsPrepare, issue and track project documentation such as contracts, change orders, etc. for all phases of assigned project work.Prepare correspondence and documents with clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies as requiredMarket new and existing clientsInteracting with clients and the public related to your work and understanding of the context of the plans you developAdhering to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manualWhat you need to have: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering5+ years of experienceAlabama Professional Engineer (PE) License is requiredOther PE licenses and/or certifications are a plusPrevious client relationships are a plusALDOT or local government design experience preferredAble to maintain project schedules, which may require occasional extended hours and overnight travelExperience with computer programs such as MicroStation, ArcGIS, InRoads, various CAD, and OpenRoads DesignerEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficient in the use of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerpointMust be dependable with the ability to work independently to accomplish tasks as well as part of the team to meet deadlines and provide high quality workAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
