This position will be responsible for the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, development of roadway plans and profiles, roadside evaluation elements, maintenance of traffic design, preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and the development of technical reports.Types of projects will include:Intersection and interchange designsNew roadway alignmentsRoadway widenings, roundabouts, interstates and pedestrian bicycle facilitiesRequirements:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program5-10 years of experience in roadway engineering (candidates with significant relevant experience but fewer years will also be considered)Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina preferredProficiency with design software including MicroStation, OpenRoadsStrong oral and written communication skills at all organizational levelsAbility to work independently and collaboratively across multi-office teamsAbility to lead and manage multiple projects, assignments, and teamsPositive, cooperative attitude as both a team leader and team playerProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Benefits:WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
