Roadway Engineering Department Lead

A civil engineering firm serving public infrastructure clients across North Carolina is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead its roadway design department. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced transportation engineer ready to take on department leadership, guide a design team, and manage high-visibility highway projects from start to finish.

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead roadway and highway design projects from initial planning through final design and construction support
- Provide day to day leadership to a team of design engineers, including mentoring and technical guidance
- Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact throughout each project
- Oversee design production to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and to a high quality standard
- Direct transportation and highway design efforts, including work for state DOT clients
- Review design plans and provide technical direction to engineering and design staff as needed
- Supervise team performance and support the professional growth of department staff
- Travel within the state periodically for client meetings and project site visits

Senior Project Manager Requirements:

- Professional Engineer (PE) license, North Carolina licensure strongly preferred, but other states with ability to transfer would be considered
- NCDOT experience is required
- 10 or more years of experience managing highway and transportation projects
