Roadway PM

Our client is a well-established engineering firm seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate brings a Professional Engineer license along with hands-on experience managing roadway and highway design projects. This is an opportunity to lead multi-discipline teams on transportation infrastructure work across the region.

Job Responsibilities -

- Direct multi-discipline teams through the full lifecycle of transportation design projects.

- Act as the main point of contact between clients, outside agencies, and internal project staff.

- Coordinate technical resources and subconsultants across active projects.

- Build project budgets, pricing, and proposals for upcoming work.

- Create and manage project schedules and overall project plans.

- Run client meetings and present project updates.

- Conduct quality control reviews on deliverables before submission.

- Mentor junior engineers and support broader business development efforts.


Job Requirements

- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington DC.

- 8 to 12 years of experience preparing roadway, highway, or traffic control plans.

- Demonstrated project management background on transportation design work.

- Proficient in MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience mentoring junior staff is a plus.

- Prior involvement in proposal development and business development preferred.
