Job Title: Robotics and Controls Engineer
Location: Delavan, WI
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Robotics and Controls Engineer with strong expertise in robotics, automation, mechanical design, PLC/HMI programming, electrical controls, machine vision, and robotic workcell integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom automation cells and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Conduct robot reachability, payload, center of gravity, and motion analysis to validate system performance.
- Program and optimize 6-axis robots such as FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs, HMI interfaces, digital/analog I/O, and electrical control systems.
- Create, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and industrial prints.
- Integrate and calibrate machine vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence for inspection and robotic guidance.
- Perform risk assessments and safety analysis while supporting safety PLCs, light curtains, and fail-safe systems.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping to improve automation processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- 5 7 years of experience in robotics, controls, automation, or related engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks 2020, AutoCAD, and GD&T/ASME Y14.5.
- Experience with powertrain fixture design, EOAT, and custom automation systems.
- Advanced PLC/HMI programming and electrical schematic design experience.
- Expert-level experience programming 6-axis robots such as FANUC, ABB, or KUKA.
- Experience with Cognex, Keyence, or similar machine vision platforms.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards including ISO 13849, ISO 10218, or ANSI B11.19.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system integration skills.
