Robotics and Motion Control Systems Engineer

Mission

Design, program, and launch advanced control systems that power modern manufacturing—fusing PLCs, HMIs, robots, and motion into reliable, high-performance solutions.

Role scope

  • Controls architecture and development for custom automation projects (PLC and HMI).
  • Robot and motion integration (FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa; servo drives and VFDs).
  • Cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, robot programming, and software teams.
  • Debug, commissioning, and on-site support—owning performance from build through start-up.
  • Compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Documentation: redline schematics, layout/panel drawings, and user manuals.
  • Project inputs: estimates, timelines, and cost considerations.

Technical stack

  • PLCs: Allen‑Bradley, Siemens
  • Robotics: FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa
  • Motion: VFDs, servo drives
  • Networks: Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet

Core capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 5+ years leading controls engineering projects centered on automation and robotics.
  • Hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robot applications.
  • Familiar with safety standards and risk assessments (ANSI, NFPA, ISO).
  • Experience programming safety PLCs/controllers.
  • Track record troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems.
  • Nice-to-have: PE license and/or Rockwell/Siemens certifications.

Travel and pay

  • Travel up to 40% to support installs, commissioning, and customer training.
