Join a Team Reinventing Warehouse Automation

Symbotic’s AI-powered robotic platform orchestrates high-density, end-to-end automation. We’re rethinking how consumer goods move with intelligent software and advanced robots that deliver speed, efficiency, and flexibility.

Is This You?

  • Do you thrive in fast-moving construction and startup environments?
  • Can you lead multi-vendor, multi-discipline crews without formal authority?
  • Are you energized by owning outcomes from site mobilization to commissioning readiness?
  • Do you prefer hands-on leadership over coordination from the sidelines?

What You’ll Do

  • Run on-site installation of robotics/ASRS equipment, controls, and adapter cells through commissioning readiness.
  • Drive safety, quality, and schedule across electricians, controls techs, commissioning resources, and third-party contractors.
  • Act as the field authority for Symbotic’s automation installation scope.
  • Make real-time decisions when issues surface or timelines slip; implement recovery plans.
  • Spot, escalate, and resolve risks tied to cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Own cost/schedule impacts from field changes, rework, and resource trade-offs.
  • Hold contractors accountable for performance and productivity.
  • Verify installations via on-the-floor checks, formal checklists, and performance testing.
  • Deliver cell-level readiness to commissioning with defects addressed and documentation finalized.
  • Capture lessons learned to improve future site delivery.
  • Partner closely with Site Installation, Project Management, Engineering, Safety, and Commissioning teams.
  • Lead automation-focused kickoffs, progress checkpoints, and get-well plans.

About the Work

Our Site Installation organization converts engineered designs into commissioning-ready systems. We manage automation equipment, adapter cells, electrical and controls integration, and coordinate with structural, racking, and construction partners. In alignment with PM, Engineering, Safety, and Commissioning, we deliver safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget installations for strong startups and long-term performance.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or related field (required).
  • At least 3 years in electrical/automation installation, industrial automation, robotics/ASRS, or large capital equipment installs (required).
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of live installations, beyond participation or coordination.
  • Leadership experience spanning electrical, controls, commissioning, and third-party teams.
  • Sharp diagnostic skills to separate design, process, and execution issues in the field.
  • Decisive leadership under pressure with accountability-driven delivery.
  • Excellent communication with engineers, PMs, customers, vendors, contractors, and executives.

Where You’ll Work

  • Hybrid, travel-centric role; easy access to a major airport is preferred.
  • Up to 80% travel. You must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • Our main office is in Wilmington, MA. Expect extended time at customer installation sites where equipment is installed and prepared for commissioning.

Important Note

This is a field leadership position—not a project coordination role.
