We are seeking a highly motivated Robotics Engineer to support the research, development, integration, and deployment of advanced robotic and autonomous systems. This role involves designing and implementing innovative solutions that enable robotic platforms to perceive, plan, coordinate, and operate effectively in dynamic and complex environments with minimal human intervention.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing autonomous algorithms, integrating sensors and robotic hardware, and conducting real-world testing of robotic systems. Design, develop, and implement autonomous robotic systems and algorithms.
Develop perception, planning, navigation, coordination, and control solutions for mobile robotic platforms.
Integrate sensors including cameras, LiDAR, radar, GPS, IMUs, and other robotic subsystems.
Perform robotic simulation, prototyping, system integration, and field-testing activities.
Develop software solutions using C++, Python, ROS, and Linux-based environments.
Conduct signal processing and data analysis to improve robotic system performance.
Validate autonomous behaviors through simulation and real-world experimentation.
Support the development of technical reports, research publications, presentations, and customer deliverables.
Contribute to proposal development, white papers, and research initiatives.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative autonomous solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to robotic hardware and software systems.
Lead technical efforts on robotics and autonomous system development projects.
Develop rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
Conduct system performance evaluations and validation testing.
Support customer demonstrations and operational field exercises.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when required.
Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in robotics, autonomy, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
2+ years of experience developing robotics or autonomous systems (experience requirements may vary based on education level).
Strong programming experience in C++ and/or Python.
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2).
Experience working in Linux development environments.
Experience with robotic simulation tools such as Gazebo, Webots, Isaac Sim, SCRIMMAGE, or similar platforms.
Understanding of robotic control systems, navigation, localization, and path planning concepts.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Up to 25% travel may be required for testing, demonstrations, customer engagements, and project support activities.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Active security clearance holders are strongly preferred.
