The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Robotics Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is in Mountain View, CA 94043.Details of the position are as follows: 
 
Job Details:
  • Pay: $36.21/hour
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Duration: 4.5-month contract
  • Location: Mountain View, CA
  • Work Environment: 100% Onsite
 
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Robotics Engineer to support robotics and AI research. In this role, you'll operate robots, teleoperation systems, cameras, and sensors to collect high-quality data used to develop next-generation AI and robotics technology. You'll work with cutting-edge robotics platforms and help generate the data used to train advanced AI systems.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience (Engineering degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience working with robots (manipulators and/or humanoids)
  • 1+ year of experience using teleoperation systems
  • 3–5 years of overall professional experience preferred
  • Experience with mechatronics and sensor systems preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate robots, grippers, and teleoperation systems
  • Collect robot teleoperation and navigation data using predefined experimental protocols
  • Set up and calibrate cameras, sensors, and data acquisition equipment
  • Assist with setting up computer vision annotation pipelines
  • Ensure accurate synchronization of robot state, vision, and sensor data
  • Organize, label, upload, and maintain robotics datasets
  • Document testing conditions, maintain accurate records, and verify data quality
  • Perform routine hardware inspections and report equipment issues
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of robotics hardware and software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience supporting robotics or AI research projects
  • Experience with computer vision or AI data collection environments
  • Experience calibrating cameras, sensors, and data acquisition systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for robotics hardware and software
  • High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality
