Complete Playground | Downtown Manhattan, NYC
Complete Playground is looking for an enthusiastic Robotics & STEM Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on classes for children.
Our current robotics program primarily serves children ages 6–12, and we are preparing to significantly expand our STEM and robotics programming to additional age groups.
This position will initially be part-time, primarily weekday afternoons, with the opportunity to develop into a full-time position over the next several months as our programs expand.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging robotics and STEM classes for children ages 6–12
- Develop age-appropriate hands-on projects and challenges
- Introduce students to robotics, engineering, coding, technology, and problem-solving
- Adapt instruction for different learning styles and abilities
- Help us develop new STEM programs for younger children, teens, and eventually broader age groups
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with STEM camps, school programs, workshops, and special events as programming expands
Qualifications
- Experience teaching robotics, STEM, coding, engineering, or related subjects
- Experience working directly with children
- Patient, energetic, creative, and comfortable working with children with different learning styles
- Robotics platforms such as LEGO Education, VEX, Arduino, micro:bit, or similar experience is a plus
- Experience working with neurodiverse children is highly valued
Schedule: Part-time, primarily weekday afternoons in Downtown Manhattan. Some weekend opportunities may also be available.
Growth opportunity: We are actively expanding our robotics and STEM department and expect this role to have the potential to become full-time within the next several months.
Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
