Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. In this role you will work as a team member under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor, performing surveying, mapping and data collection activities.Key ResponsibilitiesUse basic knowledge of the general concepts of field survey work.Collect data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features.Assist in transferring survey data to the proper files in the computer network.Assist survey crew in operating and maintaining survey instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.Perform basic tasks including holding level rod, prism pole or tape at designated points, laying out stakes, and clearing brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chainsaw.Maintain equipment and survey vehicle; clean and organize vehicle.Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.Capabilities and CredentialsBasic knowledge of surveying.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.Ability to execute surveying tasks in an accurate, efficient, detailed and safe manner.Possess basic mathematical skills.Physical ability to work in various environmental conditions with varied terrain with the ability to lift/carry surveying equipment weighing up to 50lbs.Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent is required.
