Job Position: Project Managers Voice & Data / Security
Location: Hutto, TX 78634
Pay Rate: $85,000 $110,000 per year (Based on Experience)
TradeSTAR is seeking experienced Project Managers in both Voice & Data (Structured Cabling) and Electronic Security Systems to oversee commercial low-voltage construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. These roles require strong technical backgrounds, proven project management experience, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, field teams, subcontractors, and customer relationships.
Candidates should have expertise in either structured cabling infrastructure or integrated security systems, with the ability to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple commercial low-voltage projects from kickoff through completion.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasting, and procurement plans.
Coordinate with general contractors, customers, engineers, vendors, and field supervisors.
Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
Oversee field execution of structured cabling systems or electronic security systems.
Monitor job progress, productivity, quality control, and installation standards.
Track project costs, billing milestones, and financial performance.
Conduct jobsite visits, progress meetings, and customer updates.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, certification, and final project closeout.
Ensure compliance with ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEC, NFPA (when applicable), and manufacturer standards.
Mentor lead technicians and field supervisors while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in low-voltage construction (Voice & Data or Security).
Strong technical understanding of structured cabling systems or electronic security systems.
Experience managing commercial construction projects with multiple stakeholders.
Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Experience managing budgets, labor forecasting, scheduling, and project financials.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
Valid driver s license with ability to travel to job sites throughout Central Texas.
Voice & Data Preferred Experience
CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optic backbone systems
MDF/IDF buildouts, rack/stack, and structured cabling infrastructure
Fluke certification testing and ANSI/TIA standards
BICSI certification (preferred)
Security Preferred Experience
Access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom systems
IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, DHCP, DNS)
Platforms such as LenelS2, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, Milestone
NICET or manufacturer certifications (preferred for technical depth)/
