Basic Job Functions:

The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimizing our automated systems. The Automation technician will provide technical expertise, promote Safety, Quality, Cost, & Reliability that support World Class Operations and demonstrate leadership through the maintenance strategy.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • Two-year college degree or other education, training, and certifications
  • Demonstratable experience with PLC Programing, HMI’s, Wonderware and/or FTVIEW, scaling instrumentation, PID loops
  • 5 years automation and controls experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree or other education, training, and certifications.
  • Control Logix’s Experience
  • AB & ABB Drive Experience
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
