Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction company in hiring an experienced Roller Operator to support asphalt paving and sitework operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role focused on achieving proper compaction, maintaining surface quality, and supporting overall crew productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate rollers to compact asphalt, soil, and other materials to required specifications
- Monitor compaction levels and adjust rolling patterns as needed
- Work closely with paving and grading crews to maintain proper timing and workflow
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical or safety issues
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
Qualifications
- Experience operating rollers in asphalt paving or sitework environments
- Understanding of compaction techniques and surface quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience in roadwork, paving, or heavy civil construction preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Work Environment
- Physically demanding role, including lifting up to 60 lbs
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, heat, noise, and heavy equipment
- Use of PPE required at all times
