Roller Operator

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Roller Operator to join our team on heavy highway construction projects. The Roller Operator is responsible for compacting asphalt to achieve proper density, smoothness, and finish in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate steel drum and/or rubber-tire rollers to compact asphalt on roadways and other surfaces

• Perform rolling patterns to achieve proper compaction and surface finish

• Assist the paving crew with communication and coordination during operations

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance

• Monitor mat temperature and roller timing to avoid defects such as over-compaction or shoving

• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain awareness of surrounding workers and equipment

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating rollers on heavy highway or large-scale paving projects

• Knowledge of compaction techniques and rolling sequences

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as needed

Compensation: Based on experience $22-28/hr + benefits
