About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Roofing Project Manager to oversee residential roofing installations from start to finish.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with homeowners, leading crews, solving problems, and ensuring every project meets the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Approximately 80% of this position involves project management and supervision, while 20% consists of hands-on work, primarily interior skylight finish carpentry, assisting the crew when necessary, and maintaining an organized, clean jobsite.

 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Review all incoming roofing contracts and verify measurements, specifications, and job details.
  • Order roofing, skylight, and accessory materials.
  • Schedule homeowners, roofing crews, dumpsters and material deliveries
  • Coordinate with DHI employees responsible for roll-off containers and dump trailers.
  • Load materials from our warehouse when necessary.

Jobsite Management

  • Arrive at every jobsite by 7:00 AM, if not earlier.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings and safety briefings.
  • Complete all required paperwork before work begins.
  • Collect 2nd and final progress payments.
  • Oversee roofing crews throughout the installation.
  • Ensure all work meets DHI quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.

Customer Relations

  • Maintain excellent communication with homeowners throughout the project.
  • Handle change orders, explain additional work, and obtain signed approvals before proceeding.
  • Perform final inspections & walkthroughs with homeowners.
  • Collect final payments.
  • Ensure every customer is completely satisfied before leaving the job and get 5 star Google review.

Documentation

  • Take extensive photographs and videos throughout every project.
  • Upload documentation immediately after project completion.
  • Complete crew payroll sheets.
  • Submit job folders to Accounting for closeout.

Hands-On Work

  • Complete interior skylight trim work when skylights are replaced.
  • Assist roofing crews whenever needed.
  • Pick up additional materials when required.
  • Perform roofing inspections and repair work independently or with another crew member.

Typical Schedule

  • Roofing crews begin every day at 7:00 AM.
  • Most projects finish between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, depending on job size, complexity, weather, and location.
  • While the normal schedule is Monday through Friday, many crews choose to work Saturdays, so flexibility is expected.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working on steep roofs while properly harnessed and tied off.
  • Lift and carry ladders, roofing materials, tools, and equipment weighing 75+ pounds.
  • Frequently climb ladders and navigate rooftops safely.

Required Qualifications

  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Comfortable towing a 14-foot roofing trailer on a daily basis.
  • Maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment in clean, organized condition.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Gmail.
  • Comfortable learning and using our CRM software.
  • Strong understanding of residential roofing systems and construction.
  • Finish carpentry experience or willingness to quickly learn interior skylight trim work.
  • Ability to assist installation crews when needed.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the confidence to hold crews accountable for workmanship, safety, and jobsite conduct.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Spanish speaking ability is a major plus but not required.
