We'll provide qualified opportunities, consistent training, and ongoing support to help you hit your six-figure goals.

You build relationships, close the deal, and grow your income. If this sounds like you, we want you to apply today!

Hiring Process

We know applying and interviewing for jobs can feel time-consuming - that's why we keep things moving. Our process is quick, clear, and respectful of your time:

  • Step 1: Click Apply Now and answer a few questions (5 minutes or less)
  • Step 2: Schedule your 1st round in-person interview
  • Step 3: Complete a short questionnaire to ensure this is the right role for you
  • Step 4: Attend a 2nd round in-person interview

Opportunity

Appointments come to you. The majority of your leads are generated through our door-knocking team, service technicians, marketing campaigns, website inquiries, and inbound calls. You focus on closing — not cold prospecting.

Small team. Real culture. We're a growing company — which means your contribution is visible, your wins are celebrated, and you're not one of 200 reps. You'll know your teammates. You'll matter here.

Year-round income. During the slower roofing season, we shift into our holiday lighting program — selling and installing festive lighting for homeowners across the metro. It keeps opportunities and your paycheck moving all year, with no feast-or-famine cycle.

Work that matters. You're often meeting homeowners after storm damage or at a stressful moment and guiding them to the right solution. Done well, this job protects people's biggest investment — and that's how we treat it.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be the homeowner's trusted advisor from the moment you arrive on-site. Cornerstone's reputation is built one inspection, one proposal, and one honest conversation at a time — and you're the person who protects it in the field.

  • Meet homeowners, perform roof and exterior inspections, and educate them on their options
  • Build estimates and proposals that communicate real value — not just a number
  • Follow up with homeowners and guide them through the decision process
  • Use drone technology to inspect safely and professionally
  • Keep your CRM updated so nothing falls through the cracks and ops can execute smoothly
  • Coordinate with our operations team when needed to ensure the job goes right
  • Represent Cornerstone at home shows, community events, and expos
  • Support the team during slower roofing periods — including community outreach and door-knocking — because a full pipeline is something we build together

Who You Are

We're not looking for a lone wolf closer who racks up numbers and burns bridges. We're looking for someone who cares — about the homeowner, the team, and the work itself.

  • You're a relationship-builder first. You earn trust quickly, listen before you pitch, and homeowners feel better after talking to you — not pressured.
  • You're a team player without the ego. "That's not my job" isn't in your vocabulary. You help wherever it's needed — even when no one's watching.
  • You take ownership. If something goes sideways on your job, you don't point fingers — you fix it. The homeowner's experience is your responsibility from inspection to close.
  • You're humble enough to follow a process — and sharp enough to make it work. We have a proven system. We'll teach it. We expect you to learn it, follow it, and eventually own it.
  • You're invested in something bigger than your own numbers. You bring ideas, solutions, and action to the table — looking for ways to make the team and the company better, knowing that when Cornerstone wins, you win right along with it.

What You Bring

Experience is preferred, but not required for the right

person.

  • Previous roofing, siding, or exterior sales experience preferred — strong in-home B2C sales experience welcome
  • Ability to build quick rapport and genuinely connect with homeowners
  • Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs when safe and necessary
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License and drone experience needed (or open to obtaining one) — we rely on drone technology to safely inspect steep or unsafe roofs, keeping our team out of unnecessary danger. Safety of our team is a priority.
  • CRM fluency — you keep your pipeline organized, not in your head
  • Professional appearance and communication — you represent Cornerstone all the time

Why Cornerstone

Part of a proven family. Cornerstone is backed by the same family of companies as Golden Rule Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical — a 27-year Des Moines institution. You're joining something built to last, not a startup hoping to flip.

We're growing — and we want you to grow with us. This isn't a company at its ceiling. We're building something, and the people who get in now will have the most opportunity as we scale.

We obey the Cornerstone V.A.L.U.E.S — Verified, Aligned, Legacy, Upfront, Excellence, and Stewardship. These aren't wall art — they're how we make decisions, how we treat our team, and how we show up for homeowners every day.
